Go ahead and start now. You should wait to buy clothes until you find out the sex of the baby if you are going to find out. But why not start now? That way you won’t have to be buying tons of stuff and rushing to get everything together before the baby arrives. Have fun shopping! =]

I am in the same dilemma as you. I am 17 weeks and want to buy things but my hubby wants to wait. I think when you find out gender it’s okay to start buying he thinks that you should wait until closer to your baby shower.

start whenever u want but id start now i thought it was fun buying baby things i forgot to say first find out the gender then buy things

Hell, if you know what you’re having, I would start buying baby clothes! I would wait until around 30 weeks to get furniture and bedding, only because by that time you’ll be itching to have your little one and you’ll need something to do to occupy your time and mind. Whenever you see diapers on sale, snag ‘em. =) Also, the stuff that you may possibly return should be bought near the end of your pregnancy, because some retail stores have crappy return policies and you want to be saving with money!
    Congrats on the baby!

ive never been pregnant but id say you should buy clothes when you know if it is a boy or girl and before you are to pregnant (not in a bad way) to do work. but still a few months in.
    best of luck.

I think you should wait until you knwo the gender of the kid, so you dont buy pink pillows and cribs and paint the walls pink only to know ur having a boy

I started buying diapers and uni-sex clothes at 2 months pregnant but I didnt buy furnture, baby gear, and boy or girl clothes until I found out what it was.

are you having a shower? I would register for all of the big stuff. A lot of people will go in together to purchase the high price items. I wouldn’t buy the big stuff til closer to 30-32 weeks. Hope that helped :)

i think furniture and car seats things of that nature, you should buy along the way so you aren’t swamped with all these things you need towards the end.
as for clothes, don’t rush out and buy a lot now, i have all boys clothes and i was just told i am now having a girl after being told i was having a boy twice. do the clothes last.

I’d start now. Why wait? The second trimester is when you feel the best and have the most energy. In the third trimester, it gets harder to move, harder to assemble things, harder to stay awake :-)

You can start with the really basic stuff. Save the clothes and bedding for a bit later if you’re planning to find out whether you’re having a boy or a girl.
